Super Eagles goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has officially joined South African PSL side TS Galaxy, www.aclsports.com reports.
Kayode, who left NPFL champions Remo Stars in August, has completed his switch to the PSL side for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign. The shot-stopper missed the last CHAN tournament in East Africa due to the transfer, which has now been finally confirmed.
Galaxy welcomed Bankole with open arms, as they see him as a quality addition to their goalkeeping department.
“Welcome to the family, Kayode Bankole! A commanding presence between the posts and a true game-changer joins our ranks,” said the club in a statement on Friday. “We can’t wait to see you showcase your talent and passion on the big stage!”
The Mpumalanga club, who are currently 7th on the PSL standings, made Bankole their 16th signing of the new season, as they aim to finish high on the standings at the end of the season. Bankole will compete with Ira Tapé and Nkosingabele Madela at Galaxy for a starting berth.
The NPFL winner joins fellow goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Olisa Ndah (Orlando Pirates), and others on the growing list of Nigerians in the South African topflight.
Bankole could make his debut for The Rockets when they take on Magesi FC on Saturday, 18 October, at Seshego Stadium.
