Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has announced they have dropped seventeen (17) players from their playing squad in the current Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

In a release signed by the club’s media officer Tosin Omojola, the players, which includes former MFM forward Ebenezer Odeyemi, Cameroonian Tambe Charles, and Ex-Enyimba forward Wasiu Alalade, were dropped owing to poor performance after a mid-season review by the club’s technical crew.

As also pointed out in the release, the current situation where the club is three points above the relegation zone led to the clear-out with the aim to secure improved results going forward.

Other players affected include Egorde Oghenetega, Yusuf Habeeb, Anas Mohammed, Olunide Henry, Abubakre Adeyemi, Anene Francis, and former Rivers United midfielder Kehinde Adedipe.

The Oluyole Warriors returned to the top-flight last year and were actively involved in the transfer window prior to the start of the season as they went on to sign 22 players including Faleye Sunday and two others after the campaign began.

However, the unfortunate turn of events during the course of this season has led to the exit of most of those newly signed players and with majority of them not getting enough playing time.

Shooting Stars will host Kano Pillars on Sunday in one of matchday 18 games slated for this weekend.
