NWFL Super 6 seals Tulcan Energy sponsorship deal

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) on Tuesday signed a deal with Tulcan Energy as the sole sponsor of the 2022 NWFL Super 6. 

The mini-tournament will crown the winner of the 2022 NWFL season who will then will go on to represent the country in the upcoming continental club competition. 

A representative of Tulcan Energy Resources at the unveiling and signing ceremony, Dolapo Akinwale said “Our strategy and intention is to grow the sport and that’s the reason we are sponsoring the NWFL Super 6. We are also planning to sustain this.” 

The tournament will be played from May 16th – 22nd, 2022 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The sum of N10 million will be provided by Tulcan Energy to be shared by the top three teams. Winners will take home N5 million, while the runners-up and third-placed teams will go with N3 million and N2 million respectively. In addition to that, the new sponsor will provide jerseys for all six teams competing in the mini-tournament – Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Naija Ratels, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels and Delta Queens. 

In attendance at the ceremony was the Chairperson of the NWFL, Aisha Falode; First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi; Head Strategy, Tulcan Energy Resources, Mr Dolapo Akinwale; and representatives of the league sponsors, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns, Barrister Mrs Peace Udoka Adeleke.
