Former Nasarawa United midfielder Esosa Igbinoba is on the verge of a return to the middle belt after a short and unproductive spell in Southern Nigeria.

Igbinoba was among players allowed to go look for other clubs by Nigeria Professional Football League side Rivers United at the end of the last league season following a season blighted by injury and illness. The central midfielder, efficient in dead ball situations scored eleven league goals in the 2015/16 football season for Nasarawa United, a return which attracted fellow professional league side Rivers United.

On joining Rivers though, Igbinoba could only score twice in the league as he had his campaign seriously hampered by injury at a stage then an ailment later on.

He has since been training with Lobi Stars at their Ijebu-Ode training camp with a view to joining the Pride of Benue ahead of the upcoming football league season.
