Abia Angels made history by securing their first-ever NWFL Premiership Super Six victory, while Nasarawa Amazons maintained their perfect start to the campaign on Matchday Two, www.aclsports.com reports.

Abia Angels stunned hosts Rivers Angels 1-0 in the opening game of the day at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Winner David’s 26th-minute header proved decisive as the Umuahia-based side claimed their first three points in the Super Six.

The Amazons completed the comeback in stoppage time when Ayatsea Hembafan scored the winner in the first minute of added time. The goal was Hembafan’s seventh of the season and ensured the Lafia-based side remained top of the standings with maximum points.

Edo Queens recorded the biggest win of the day with a commanding 4-1 victory over FC Robo Queens in the final fixture.

Edo Queens capitalised after surviving an early scare when Opeyemi Ajakaye missed a golden opportunity to put Robo Queens ahead. Chioma Moses opened the scoring in the 15th minute before doubling the advantage in the 32nd minute.

Substitute Precious Oscar made an immediate impact by adding a third goal in the 59th minute, while Mary Mamudu scored four minutes later to put the result beyond doubt. Florence Godwin Freda grabbed a late consolation for FC Robo Queens in the 86th minute.

The results leave Nasarawa Amazons at the top of the table with six points, while Abia Angels occupy second place with four points. Edo Queens are third, Rivers Angels sit fourth, Bayelsa Queens are fifth, and FC Robo Queens remain without a point after two matches.

Matchday Three in the NWFL Super6, scheduled for 10 June, will see Edo Queens face Abia Angels, Rivers Angels take on Bayelsa Queens, and FC Robo Queens battle leaders Nasarawa Amazons.
