Nigerian versatile fullback Emmanuel Godwin is set to join Czech top division club FK Pardubice from Swedish side Trelleborg on a permanent deal, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 20-year-old has been in Sweden since 2023 and impressed in the Superettan for his side, contributing two assists in 27 games last season, before his side’s relegation.

Following his strong performances during the course of the season, he became a subject of transfer and is now set to complete a move out of the Scandinavian region in January.

The Tripple 44 Football Academy product has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Chance Liga side starting from January. The move comes after a long transfer battle between some clubs in the Scandinavian region for his services.

Swedish sides IF Brommapojkarna and IF Elfsborg were interested in snapping him up, but it was Norwegian side Tromsø IL who showed the biggest interest in the youngster, who also goes by the nickname Dembele, before turning them down for a move elsewhere.

He will now team up with current Super Eagles defender at the ongoing AFCON, Igoh Ogbu, in the Czech top division. Other Nigerians in the division include Rafiu Durosinmi, David Moses, Nelson Okeke, Peter Kareem, and several others.
