The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has appointed Elishama Elam as the head coach of the National Senior Women’s Team, according to www.aclsports.com.

Elam will be assisted by Segun Abinde (Assistant Coach of Kano Pillars VC), and Chinyere Onuoha (Coach of NSCDC).

In an exclusive interview with www.aclsports.com, Elam expressed his excitement about the new role and his vision for the team.

The former National U19 women’s coach emphasized the importance of selecting the right players for the national team.

He said, “I am truly honored to take on this responsibility. Our goal is to take Nigerian women’s volleyball to the next level. We’ll be bringing in fresh ideas and strategies that will help elevate the team.

“We will leave no stone unturned in identifying the best players. The focus will be on selecting those who are in top form and can represent Nigeria with pride.

“Nigeria has players scattered across Africa, Asia, America and Europe; I will consult with the Board of Administration of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation to see how we can bring them and make some of them commit their future to Nigeria”.

He also revealed plans to introduce a more structured approach to team preparations.

“One of our main objectives is to organise regular training programs to ensure the players are well prepared for international competitions. This will be an ongoing effort to keep the team in peak condition, both physically and mentally,” Elam explained.
