Locker Room Bonus (LRB), the direct-to-athlete reward initiative supported by betPawa, has officially renewed its partnership with the Nigeria National League (NNL) for the 2026/2027 season, placing player welfare, dignity, and real-time recognition at the very center of Nigerian domestic football.

To sustain this mission, the renewed 2026/2027 agreement carries an estimated total seasonal partnership value of up to ₦496.9 million. This covers direct match-win bonus funding, operational promotional support, and an earmarked ₦8 million fund dedicated to recognizing standout individual players and clubs at the end of the season.

The partnership operates on a straightforward principle: when athletes and technical staff put in the sacrifice to deliver a win, the appreciation should reach them directly and without delay.

Here is the financial breakdown of the #betPawa and #NNL’s #LockerRoomBonus consummated today:

* 20 players + 3 staff per match - ₦56,000 each per win
* ₦1.288m to every winning team
* ₦400k to the NNL per match
* Over ₦369m to players this season! pic.twitter.com/ZDAu67IVRm

Across the NNL’s 34 clubs and four conferences, eligible squad members receive match-win bonuses instantly via mobile money before they even leave the dressing room. By turning recognition into an immediate post-match reality rather than a distant promise, the programme eliminates administrative bottlenecks and ensures equal pay amounts across men’s and women’s competitions.

NNL COO, Danlanmi Alanana, says the Locker Room Bonus player programme will help in the development of the league,competitiveness and improve player welfare.

“It has also made the league very competitive. Everybody wants to win and therefore, you see there’s an enhancement of performance by the players. The coaches are also putting in their best to ensure that their team wins. So it has brought in so much competition among the players”

“Athlete welfare is central to BetPawa. Through the Locker Room Bonus, we’re recognizing athletes’ efforts and extending direct support to more players, wherever they compete,” said Nii Ashong Katai, BetPawa Regional Manager West and Southern Africa.

The renewal builds on proven impact. During the 2025/2026 regular season and Super 4, LRB executed over 5,000 direct mobile transactions totalling ₦289.7 million in support across competitions. Supported by secure identity verification and payment infrastructure via pawaPass and pawaPay, the framework guarantees that financial support reaches the intended athletes transparently and friction-free.

The 2026/2027 NNL season kicks off on 1 November 2026.
