Plateau United went back to the top of the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table on Sunday after a 2-0 win over Dakkada FC but the Abia derby between Abia Warriors and Enyimba was marred by violence.

Abdu Maikaba’s United took full advantage of Lobi Stars’ 0-4 humiliation by Wikki Tourists to return to the summit courtesy of goals by Tosin Omoyele and Salefu Ochowechi.

Akwa United recorded the only away win of the match day when goals by Ndifreke Effiong and Akarandut Orok handed them a 2-1 win over Rangers in Enugu.

Rivers United also emerged from Ilorin with a point against Kwara United. Michael Enaruna’s strike late in the first half canceling out Dede Muoghara’s penalty.

The game in Umuahia between reigning champions Enyimba and their local rivals Abia Warriors was ended abruptly after fight broke out in the stands shortly after Warriors’ Emeka Isaac missed a penalty in the 15th minute.

In Okigwe, Emeka Obioma registered a hattrick as Heartland dismantled Adamawa United 5-0.
