Lagos based side MFM FC on Sunday shocked Heartland by inflicting a 1-0 defeat on the Naze Millionaires on the opening day of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2019/20 season.

Clement Ogwu headed home Adeyinka Najeem’s corner in the 39th minute to secure an away win for Tony Bolus’ side against Heartland who are now coached by former MFM handler Fidelis Ilechukwu.

Rivers United held Kano Pillars to a 0-0 draw in a game played behind closed doors in Kano while the two games between Delta and Akwa-Ibom states teams ended in stalemate.

Delta Force were held to a 1-1 draw by Akwa Starlets in Asaba while Mfon Udoh scored for Akwa United in their 1-1 draw at Warri Wolves.
