Nigerian karate refereeing trio, Bakare Suleiman, Zainab Salleh and Olusegun Akinola will officiate at the ongoing Karate 1-Premier League competition in Dubai.

Aclsports.com gathered, Bakare Suleiman is now a World Kata Judge after passing series of practical and theory tests at the Premier League.

Suleiman who have officiated in the West African Zone, All African Games, African Championships is now set for the big stage at the world level.

In an exclusive interview with aclsports.com, an elated Suleiman said, “I am feeling on top of the world because it is always the dream of anybody who finds himself in a career to get to the top. Now I am at the zenith of karate refereeing and all I can do is to thank God”.

“I feel delighted and it is also interesting. When I started, I never knew I would one day be a World Kata Judge with determination and hard -work. I was doing it for pleasure. However, when I started officiating karate people kept saying I would one day become a World Kata Judge. All that concerned me was to enjoy myself while officiating the sport I love doing”, he ended.

Meanwhile, Zainab Salleh is the sole sponsor of the Zainab Saleh International Female Open Karate Championship which has been running for four years.
