Four of the five games played in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday produced draws, www.aclsports.com reports.

Shooting Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Plateau United in Ibadan. It also finished the same way between Bayelsa United and Kano Pillars as well as the game between Akwa United and Abia Warriors. Meanwhile, it ended goalless between Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United in Minna.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars came from a goal down to win their second point of the new campaign. Defensive midfielder Victor Dawa latched onto a pass from Muhammad Umar before firing past 3SC goalkeeper Abiodun Akande to put the visitors ahead.

In first half stoppage time, the home side got back on level terms after some nice work between Anthony Okachi and Fasanmi Olaniyi ended with the latter playing a fine cross to Uche Onwuasonaya – who then curled the ball past goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka.

Both teams went for the winner after the break but it never came and they settled for a share of the spoils.

In Yenagoa, Auwalu Ali Malam’s goal for Kano Pillars was cancelled out by Rabiu Abdullahi for Bayelsa United just before the hour mark.

Former NPFL champions Akwa United needed a late penalty to avoid defeat at the hands of Abia Warriors in Uyo. Ojonugwa Adejoh put the visitors ahead after just five minutes before Edidiong Ezekiel scored in stoppage time from the spot to salvage a point for the Promise Keepers.

Meanwhile, Katsina United came from a goal down to beat Bendel Insurance in Katsina. James Orosanye (Bendel Insurance) scored the game’s opener before a goal from Bello Lukman and a stoppage time winner from Azeez Falolu secured first three points of the season for the Chanji Boys.

Earlier on Saturday, Remo Stars, and Rivers United claimed home wins, while the remaining games of the match day will be played on Wednesday 25th September.
