Nigeria Premier Football League side, Kano Pillars, have announced the arrival of three signings ahead of the new league season, www.aclsports.com reports.
Sai Masu Gida confirmed the signings of defenders Chinedu Ozor, Mukhtar Muhammed, and forward Chiedozie Okorie as some of the additions to the squad before the kickoff the 2025/26 league season.
Ozor, who has played for Abia Warriors and Heartland in the past, is capable of playing at the heart of the backline or right-back, while Mukhtar, one of the shining lights at Elkanemi Warriors last season, switched to the 2014 NPFL Champions. Meanwhile, Okorie left the 2024 champions, Rangers, for Pillars.
In the unveiling video of Ozor, the defender was taken to the historic Kofar Mata Dye Pits. Established in 1498, the site is celebrated as one of West Africa’s oldest dyeing centres, renowned for its enduring indigo dyeing heritage.
Similarly, the club introduced Okorie at Kurmi Market, a historic landmark dating back to the 15th century under Emir Muhammad Rumfa’s reign (1463–1499). Once a bustling centre along the ancient Trans-Saharan trade route, Kurmi – meaning “forest” in Hausa – remains a symbol of Kano’s rich commercial heritage.
Meanwhile, Mukhtar was unveiled at the historic Gidan Makama, a 15th-century royal residence turned museum that stands as a proud symbol of Kano’s rich cultural heritage.
Despite the announcement of the new arrivals, Pillars remain without a head coach since the exit of Usman Abdallah back in May. Although they have initiated talks with Imama Amapakabo of Abia Warriors, the transition process has not been completed, and it was earlier revealed on ACLSports what the current situation is between the two clubs and the 2016 NPFL winning coach.
Apart from the trio announced so far, it is expected that Kano Pillars will wrap up more new signings before the season gets underway.
