Defending champions and hosts Rivers Hoopers will face Lagos Legends Basketball Club in a winner-takes-all fight for the 2025 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) championship on Sunday, www.aclsports.com reports.

Sunday’s meeting between the Hoopers and the Legends will bring an exhilarating three days of hostilities in the NPBL Final Four at Niger Street, Port Harcourt to an anticipated pulsating climax.

Both teams have won their first two games against Gboko City Chiefs and Nigeria Customs, leaving the Chiefs and Customs to battle for third place in Sunday’s first game before the grand finale to determine who wears the crown.

Standing between Rivers Hoopers and a third consecutive crown are this Lagos Legends side that defeated Hoopers during the Final 8 last month and have also blown away their opponents in the past two days.

Hoopers head coach, Ogoh Odaudu says his side are determined to avoid a second loss to the Legends within a short period of time.

“I don’t want to sound too confident, but Lagos Legends beat us by one point in the Final Eight, and I don’t think that should’ve happened because we played terribly that day.

“We’re not going to let that happen twice. We’re going to come out really serious, and we’re going to take each quarter as it comes. Every day is a different ballgame, whether it’s the same team or not,” said Odaudu.

Winner of this prestigious clash will not only take home the league crown but will also pick the sole ticket to represent Nigeria at next year’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
