Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been nominated in CAF’s final three-man shortlist for the 2025 Player of the Year award, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Galatasaray striker was named in the initial ten-man shortlist for the award, and has now made the final three after a successful first season in Turkey.
Victor Osimhen, who missed out in last year’s edition, won a domestic double with Galatasaray last term before pushing Nigeria through to the 2026 Africa World Cup Playoffs in Morocco. He has also made a fine start to the season with nine goals from 12 appearances in the Turkish Lig and Champions League.
The former Napoli striker will battle favourite Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah for the award. Osimhen first won the award in 2023, but will definitely take solace in returning to the top three after a difficult 12 months at club level.
