The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday revealed that a new contract to be signed by the men’s senior national team head coach Gernot Rohr will be ready within the next week.
The NFF rose from its Executive Committee meeting held last Thursday via Video Conferencing to make important decisions on the nation’s football development which includes the resolving of Mr Rohr’s future.
In the Communique made available to www.aclsports.com, the governing body directed its General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi to put finishing touches to the contract and revert to the body within the next seven days.
“The Executive Committee mandated the General Secretary to liaise with the Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Mr. Gernot Rohr with a view to concluding all matters around Mr. Rohr’s new contract within the next one week,” read the communique.
After weeks of public and private deliberations on certain clauses enshrined in the contract proposal by the Federation, it appears that both parties have finally agreed on how it would look like.
www.aclsports.com scooped that the German is expected to be offered a two-year contract extension which will make him the longest serving Super Eagles head coach since Clemens Westerhof.
Rohr became head coach of the team in July 2016 and during his four years reign has qualified the team for both the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the FIFA World Cup finals.
