Manchester City have named goalkeeper, Ederson in their squad for the Champions League opener against Dutch side, Feyenoord on Wednesday.

The Brazilian was badly wounded on his face after a collision with Sadio Mane, during the PL encounter between City and Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday.

But the 24-year-old summer signing has returned to first team training on Tuesday, wearing a headguard, according to the BBC.

He could make his CL debut for the Cityzens, though Claudio Bravo, who replaced him on Saturday after he was stretched off might start against the Dutch side.

Ederson looked really hurt as he was carried off the pitch after, Mane, who was sent off, caught him on the face with his studs.

He became the most expensive goalkicker in history following his £34million move from Benfica to City, eclipsing the 32million Juventus paid Parma for Gianluigi Buffon.

In a related development, Liverpool’s appeal for Sadio Mane’s sending off against Man City has been rejected by the FA.

The Senegalese was sent off in the 37th minutes for a high boot which left City goalkeeper, Ederson needing 8 stitches and unable to continue the game on Saturday.

Mane faced a three-match ban, which the Reds deemed excessive, and filed an appeal over the length of his punishment, which has now been dismissed by the FA following an independent regulatory commission hearing.

The 23-year-old will now miss the PL matches against Burnley and Leicester City, as well another match against Leicester in the Carabao Cup.
