NWFL Premiership champions Edo Queens thrashed AS GNN 7-0 in their 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifying opener in Ouagadougou on Monday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Chioma Moses opened the scoring at the Stade du 4 Août after just five minutes with a stunning volley inside the box before calmly converting from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time to give Edo Queens a 2-0 lead at the break.
Edo Queens continued their dominance after the restart, with Atume Doosuur extending the advantage two minutes into the second half after finishing a cut-back from Moses. The striker struck again in the 56th minute to complete her brace, combining with Moses and Aminat Folorunsho before firing a low shot past the goalkeeper.
Folorunsho added a fifth in the 62nd minute after AS GNN failed to clear their lines, before Moses completed her hat-trick in the 76th minute to put Edo Queens 6-0 ahead.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the rout in the third minute of stoppage time, scoring on her Edo Queens debut with a curling effort following a defensive error.
Moses was named Player of the Match after her hat-trick helped Edo Queens secure a convincing opening victory.
In the other Group B fixture earlier, defending WAFU-B champions ASEC Mimosas suffered a 1-0 defeat to Ghanaian side Ampem Darkoa.
Edo Queens will face ASEC Mimosas in their next Group B fixture on August 27 before rounding off their group-stage campaign against Ampem Darkoa on August 30.
