After his award winning wonder goal against Enugu Rangers at the Agege Stadium last season, Sikiru Olatunbosun of MFM FC has caught the eye of the NPFL and football fans in the country.

The left footed attacker has since become an influential figure for the Olukoya boys, hence it came as a surprise when news broke that MFM FC didn’t register him alongside other attacking talents like Waleed Adebayo and Akila Jesse for the CAF Champions League.

“I don’t want to cry when you’re mentioning all these kind of names. It pains me a lot but it’s the management,” head coach of MFM FC, Fidelis Ilechukwu said ahead of their MC Alger return fixture in the CAF CL.

“There’s no coach in this world that won’t love to have his best players around in every tournament. I did all I could but before you know what’s going on, the CAF CL window was already closed.”

Other players were registered before the window closed so what happened with Sikiru’s and others?

“That time, there were some little issues because most of them wanted to go and I was like pleading with them not to go. When the management reached an agreement and concluded, it was already late. So it’s painful – MFM are going to play without C. Ronaldo and Messi.”

Who is C. Ronaldo and who is Messi? “Sikiru is Messi and Waheed is C. Ronaldo,” Ilechukwu said with a big smile.
