Dave Jegede, the Technical Representative, Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), said in a statement that attributed the success of the team to the timely intervention of the federation’s President, Hon Silas Agara.

He said: “Despite the short notice to the championship, the federation led by the deputy governor of Nasarawa, Hon Silas Agara took a bold step in sponsoring athletes, coaches and referees to attend the championship”.
