Nigeria U18 player, Hakeem Salami was in the top form of his life as he helped Lagos Seasiders beat De Defenders 29-25 on Day 3 at the ongoing Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.

Salami who came in as a substitute dazzled De Defenders players in the first and second half of the game.

The fast rising handball player contributed to the impressive win of the Lagos based team.

Salami also known as “Pomo” said, “I am happy my coach, Agboola Shittu gave me the opportunity to play this crucial match.

“I was not comfortable sitting on the bench and immediately I was called upon, I knew it was time to prove my worth”.

He attributed his rapid improvement to the continuous attendance of national and International tournaments.

Salami said, “Within one year, I attended the IHF challenge trophy in Niger, the World Cup Qualifiers in Morocco, 2018 Africa Youth Games and the IHF Challenge Trophy in Kosovo. These tournaments helped me grow both skills and techniques”.
