Head Coach of the Super Falcons Thomas Dennerby lauded the effort of his players in their 2-0 win over South Korea at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup (FIFAWWC) in France.

Comparing the loss to Norway and Wednesday’s victory over South Korea the Swede said: “Today our discipline was better than against Norway – no mistakes at all.

“If we can be as compact as we were today, don’t let teams overplay us in midfield and find passes through, we know we will get opportunities for players like Asisat (Oshoala). The players followed our match plan and that’s all you can really ask.”

Looking forward to France, the Super Falcons of Nigeria need at least a point in order to control their own destiny in terms of qualification to the next round.

“Now we go to play France, a really good team. If we can come out with a point everyone would be extremely happy,” Dennerby said.

“But you can’t just go to defend; you need to know what to do when you win the ball back and hopefully, we can have a little bit of success.”

Nigeria take on France on Monday night, same time as the final group game between Norway and South Korea.
