The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unanimously thrown its support behind the incumbent FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, for another term, www.aclsports.com reports.
The decision was finalized during a CAF executive meeting on April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, just ahead of the 76th FIFA Congress. The CAF member associations unanimously agreed to back the Swiss leader’s re-election bid for the 2027–2031 period.
In an official statement, CAF declared: “The Confederation of African Football (CAF) held a meeting this Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress, and the CAF member associations unanimously agreed to support the re-election of Gianni Infantino as FIFA President for the 2027–2031 period.”

Meanwhile, Gianni Infantino is expected to officially announce his candidacy in the coming weeks.
Multiple reports indicate that Morocco has been chosen as the host nation for the 77th FIFA Elective Congress, set to take place on April 30, 2027.
