The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unanimously thrown its support behind the incumbent FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, for another term, www.aclsports.com reports.

The decision was finalized during a CAF executive meeting on April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, just ahead of the 76th FIFA Congress. The CAF member associations unanimously agreed to back the Swiss leader’s re-election bid for the 2027–2031 period.

In an official statement, CAF declared: “The Confederation of African Football (CAF) held a meeting this Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress, and the CAF member associations unanimously agreed to support the re-election of Gianni Infantino as FIFA President for the 2027–2031 period.”
