Host Cameroon lift first African Women’s Volleyball Championship

Team Cameroon on Saturday won her maiden African Women’s Volleyball Championship title in front of her home fans in Yaoundé.

The Indomitable Lionesses stunned Kenya with a straight sets victory 25-22, 25-19, 29-27 denying the East African’s a fourth consecutive title at the Palais des Sports in the Cameroonian capital.

Egypt earned the bronze medal after they beat Senegal 25-20, 25-19, 25-23. Tunisia in the 5th place after they beat neighbours Algeria 3-1 on Saturday. Nigeria finished their campaign seventh after beating Botswana 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-14).
