The 2025 President Federation Cup semi-finals are set to ignite this weekend as four of Nigeria’s top women’s football teams clash for a coveted spot in the final, www.aclsports.com reports.

With Rivers Angels, Ibom Angels, Edo Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons still in contention, fans are in for a thrilling double-header on Saturday, May 24.

Rivers Angels vs Ibom Angels: A Familiar Rivalry Returns in Aba

The Enyimba International Stadium in Aba will be the battleground for a heavyweight showdown between Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and Ibom Angels of Uyo, a repeat of the 2017 and 2018 finals.

Rivers Angels, the most successful team in the history of the competition, have dominated Nigerian women’s football over the past decade and a half. With titles from 2010 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2018, they are looking to extend their legacy after reclaiming the trophy in 2024 with a 1–0 victory over Naija Ratels in Lagos.

Rivers Angels defeated Moje Queens in the Round of 32, thrashed First Mahi Babes 5–0 in the Round of 16 and edged Remo Stars Ladies 3–1 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the quarter-finals.

Ibom Angels meanwhile, are looking to flip the script. Having lost to Rivers Angels in two previous finals, they’ll be seeking revenge and their first-ever title. The Uyo based side booked their semi-final spot with wins over Sporting Angels, Delta Queens and Heartland Queens.

Edo Queens vs Nasarawa Amazons: Clash of Titans in Ayingba

Over in Ayingba, Edo Queens will go toe to toe with Nasarawa Amazons, who are chasing a third national title after previous triumphs in 2005 and 2019.

Nasarawa Amazons, who clinched the cup in 2005 and 2019, have built an impressive campaign this year. After defeating Kwara Ladies in the Round of 32, they stunned former champions Bayelsa Queens in the Round of 16 and edged out Sunshine Queens in a hard-fought quarter-final.

Edo Queens, known for their solid team structure and determined play, have had a strong run themselves. Wins over Kada Queens, Osun Babes, and Unification Ladies have propelled them into the semis, and they’ll be looking to go one better by reaching their first-ever final.

With both sides boasting strong squads and deep ambition, fans can expect fireworks in Kogi State’s university town.
