Former coach of Sporting Lagos, Paul Offor is set to be named head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Enyimba FC ahead of the 2024/25 season, www.aclsports.com has exclusively gathered.

Offor, who was a fans’ favourite while he worked at Sporting Lagos in the just concluded season, has been handpicked by the Enyimba hierarchy to lead the side on a permanent basis.

It will be recalled that Finidi George, who led the team to her ninth league title last year, left the role to become the Super Eagles head coach , and his assistant Yemi Olanrewaju was placed in charge until the end of the season.

A top source in the city of Aba who also has close ties to the coach has now informed ACLSports that the former Warri Wolves head coach is expected to lead the club as a deal will be completed soon with the People’s Elephant.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, Offor, will be announced as the next substantive head coach of Enyimba. The source would however not disclose what the future of Olanrewaju is at the club.

Paul Offor, 35, was present at the Enyimba Stadium last Sunday to watch the final game of NPFL season between Enyimba and Plateau United – a game the home side won 2-0 to book their place in the CAF Confederation Cup for next season.

Offor secured NPFL promotion with Sporting Lagos before he was sacked with eight games to go. His record with the now relegated Lagos side stood at 10 wins, 13 defeats and 8 draws.
