2019 Nigeria International Open Champion, Elizabeth Anyanacho has qualified for Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the Taekwondo event.

The 2020 Africa Taekwondo Olympic Qualifiers is taking place at Complexe sportif Moulay Abdellah (Palais des sports), Rabat City, Morocco.

Elizabeth Anyanacho defeated former African champion, Urgence Mouega of Gabon 12-5 points in the -67kg women’s bout.

Anyanacho becomes the second female taekwondo athlete to qualify for an Olympics after Princess Dudu at Athens 2004 Olympics.

Meanwhile, African Bronze Medalists Benjamin Okuomose dream of qualifying to the Olympics came to an end after losing 19-16 to former World Champion, Gabon’s Anthony Obame.

Okuomose was leading Obame until 12 seconds till the end of the bout.

Meanwhile, African Champion Chinazum Nwosu and Nigeria Open gold medalist, Ifeoluwa Ajayi will gun for glory on tomorrow.
