National champion, Elizabeth Anyanacho (-67kg) told www.aclsports.com that her sojourn to the 2019 Egypt Open Taekwondo Championship is to gather experience ahead of the 2019 All Africa Games and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 2019 Egypt Open Taekwondo Championship will be staged from 21st to 24th February at Alexandria, Hurghada, Red Sea.

Anyanacho who clinched gold at the 2018 National Sports Festival said the fights with top athletes will help develop my techniques because this is my second major tournament in Europe.

She said, “I am happy to make this trip to Egypt because this is my first trip to a North African championship.  I am here to gather more experience ahead of the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco. This will help me adapt to Northern opponents because I have 5 of them in my category.

“My aim is to prepare hard now in order to win gold at the All Africa Games; as usual I am going to train hard for it not just to sleep and fold my arms after my performance at the Nigeria Open. I know by God’s grace the sky is my starting point”.

Anyanacho said, “For the Olympics, I feel I can qualify for the biggest sporting event in the World”.

The Korea Ambassador Cup champion disclosed those who motivate her.

She said, “My first motivating factor is God, secondly family and then my teammate which includes my coach three times Olympian, Chika Chukwumerije (OLY). When I see them, I am like I need to make them proud.

“I want my friends, family and fans to continue praying for me; I also want to thank them for supporting me. I will try my best not to let them down”.

Egyptian Taekwondo Federation for the 6th consecutive year is organizing the 2019 edition of G2 Egypt Open Taekwondo Championship which is largely sponsored by National Bank of Egypt and powered by Rawabit Sports.
