The 2026 summer transfer window has seen Nigerian players make moves across Europe and beyond ahead of the 2026/27 season, www.aclsports.com reports.
Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne left Everton for Inter Milan, signing a contract until June 2028, while Chinyere Kalu joined FC Badalona from Levante. Rofiat Imuran moved from London City Lionesses to Aston Villa, while Comfort Erhabor joined Crystal Palace from Portsmouth on a two-year deal. Joy Omewa also moved to Sweden, joining BK Häcken from Nottingham Forest on a contract until 2029.
Benfica completed three Nigerian signings. Janet Akekoromowei joined from Bayelsa Queens on a contract until 2028, with an option for two additional years. Flourish Sabastine joined from Fenerbahçe on a deal until 2029, with an option for another year, while Oluwatosin Demehin joined from Galatasaray until 2029. Shakirat Moshood also left Bayelsa Queens for SCU Torreense on a two-year deal.
Fenerbahçe signed Suliat Abideen from ABB FOMGET on a deal running until the end of the 2026/27 season, while FOMGET added Miracle Usani from Abia Angels on a two-year deal and Zipporah Agama from Levante.
Kayseri Kadın FK signed Blessed Isigbo, Cynthia Mega, Oluwabunmi Oladeji, Precious Obasi, Ayowunmi Omosuyi, Adaobi Judith Okah, Hembafan Roseline Ayatsea and Mariam Abdulkadri. Kafayat Bashiru also returned to the club after scoring 43 goals and helping secure promotion to the Turkish Women’s Super League.
Jumoke Alani joined Yüksekova Spor Kulübü from Nasarawa Amazons on a one-year deal, while Precious Christopher and Yetunde Ayantosho moved to Safi MCL Bentonit Ünye Kadın FK.
Ogechi Ukwuoma joined Albanian side KF Teuta from KF Apolonia, while Olamide Adugbe moved to Greek top-flight club Asteras Tripolis from MFA Žalgiris on a two-year deal.
Outside Europe, Christy Ucheibe left Benfica after six seasons for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal on a deal until 2028, while Chinaza Uchendu moved from Melbourne City to Al Ahli. Barakat Olaiya joined Tanzania’s Yanga Princesses from Maccabi ASA Tel Aviv, and Mercy Omokwo moved from Bnot Netanya to Liberia’s Determine Girls FC.
