Dennis Bonaventure has rediscovered his scoring boots after going 15 matches without scoring for his club. Eagles in Europe, EiE, returns with a review of performances from Super Eagles players during the weekend.

Starting off in the Belgian Jupiler where Bonaventure helped Club Brugge to a 3-0 win over Mechelen on Sunday.

Bonaventure scored the second goal of the day after he was set up by the brilliant South African, Percy Tau.

The goal brings to an end his run of games without scoring a goal, which stretched to 15 matches in all competitions for club and country.

In the Bundesliga, it was a respite for Jamilu Collins and Paderborn as they put a stop to their losing streak with a 1-1 draw at home to Union Berlin.

Collins finished the game with a chance created, one key pass, three tackles won, and one interception.

For the Super Eagles contingent in France, it was a quiet weekend for them but Moses Simon, who grabbed an assist.

Victor Osimhen missed a late penalty for LOSC Lille at home in their Ligue 1 match against Montpellier.

Having been caged all day, Osimhen was given a golden chance to add to his goal tally this season in added time, but he missed from the spot as Lille held on for a 2-1 win over Montpellier.

Samuel Kalu played for 18 minutes, creating a chance, and one key pass as Bordeaux lost 0-1 at home to Strasbourg.

At Stade Costieres, Simon provided the killer pass for Imran Louza as Nantes defeated Nimes 0-1.

The assist was the fourth of the season in Ligue 1 for the Super Eagle winger, as he continues to impress on loan.

Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were on show as Leganes held their hosts, Alaves, to a 1-1 draw. Omeruo played for 61 minutes, picking up a yellow card, while Awaziem was on from start to finish.

Samuel Chukwueze featured for 66 minutes, creating a chance, and one key pass as Villarreal shocked Sevilla 1-2 away.

Over to the Serie A, where Ola Aina and William Troost-Ekong were involved in some interesting matches.

Aina put in a creative performance as Torino and Hellas Verona played out an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Ekong won one tackle and made five interceptions against the champions.

The fullback created two chances, two key passes, and two take-ons but these were not enough as they shared the spoils with Verona.

In Turin, Troost-Ekong and teammates were put to the sword by Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Juventus who ran out 3-1 winners.

For the Super Eagles playing in England, Alex Iwobi helped his Everton side to a valuable point at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Iwobi featured from start to finish as Manchester United came from behind to deny them a famous win and three points.

Earlier on Saturday, Wilfred Ndidi and Leicester City had their winning streak was cut short at the King Power Stadium.

A Teemu Pukki-led Norwich City came, saw and left with a point, putting an end to Leicester’s impressive and historic eight-game winning run.

Ndidi won the most tackles (3), created in chance, one key pass and made four interceptions.

In the Skybet Championship, West Brom Albion added another three points with Semi Ajayi on from start to finish.

WBA defeated Birmingham City 2-3 with Ajayi returning to his centre-back role.

For Stoke City, it was a goalless affair with Reading but without Oghenekaro Etebo, who is still injured.

Finally, Joe Aribo was on from start to finish as Rangers defeated Motherwell 0-2 in the Scottish league.
