Borno state leader of delegation, Francis Imoudu told www.aclsports.com that the athletes will harvest medals at the ongoing 2023 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state.

Francis Imoudu disclosed this during the opening ceremony of the 2023 NYG on Saturday.

While urging the athletes to be good ambassadors of the state, he said Borno state is a force to reckon with at the Games.

He said, “Borno state is here and as long as the North East is concerned, we are a force to reckon with. Borno state brought the association that can add glamour to the games and go home with medals as well as compete clean.

“We are going to harvest medals at the National Youth Games due to the support given by the State Government throughout the years.

The Head Coach of Nigeria Beach Volleyball Teams said Borno state has a comparative advantage in the Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Badminton, and Boxing events.

Imoudu said, “Borno state is participating in 10 events at the National Youth Games, and sports we have comparative advantage in include; Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Badminton, and Boxing which is our normal harvesting ground.  We will go home with some medals.

“I want to urge the athletes to make the state proud and at the end of the day a package from the State Government will be ready for them”.
