Dolphins, stunned defending champions Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) 51–41 on day 1 of the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League Final 8, www.aclsports.com reports.

At the National Stadium, Surulere, Anari Favour led the way with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, while Okoh Awele added a double-double of 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks in the surprise win. MFM’s Idubamo Beggi finished with 13 points and 2 steals in defeat.

Royal Aces edged Air Warriors 54–52 in a tense contest. Okeke Chidimma impressed with 15 points and 3 steals for the Aces, supported by Ogedengbe Bidemi’s double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Prosper Deborah stood out for Air Warriors with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

First Bank underlined their title credentials with a dominant 56–36 win over Bayelsa Blue Whales. Thomas Rachel stood out for the Whales with 10 points and 9 rebounds, while Sampson Favour added 9 boards and 3 blocks, but it wasn’t enough against the Elephant Girls’ firepower

Titans Basketball also made a winning start, overcoming Nigeria Customs 51–47 in a hard-fought battle. Tomiwa Idris was the difference maker for Titans, posting 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Customs’ Cynthia Gbin hit three triples in a 13-point outing.

Day 2 continues on Wednesday with more crunch fixtures. Bayelsa Blue Whales face Air Warriors at 10:00am, Nigeria Customs meet MFM at noon, Dolphins clash with Titans at 2:00pm, and Royal Aces round off the day against First Bank at 4:00pm.
