Head Coach of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Ndubueze Abraham Ochedike is amongst those who disappeared from the Commonwealth Games village in Gold Coast, Australia, aclsports.com has confirmed.

Aclsports.com had earlier reported the incident of Team Nigeria missing athletes.

Ochedike who hails from Abia state was said to have vanished immediately after the Nigeria Weightlifting Team ended their campaign without a medal at the Commonwealth Games Games.

The head coach was amongst the last batch of Team Nigeria consisting of the Nigeria Wrestlers and ten Federations Secretary as well as Director of Federation of Elites Athletics Department, Tayo Oreweme to depart the country for Australia.

Aclsports.com learnt Ochedike runs a good businesses and is also highly placed in the civil service of the Abia state government.

Meanwhile, Africa Junior Champion, Fatima Yakubu is nowhere to be found.

Competing in the women’s 53kg category, Yakuba was sensationally disqualified over a safety pin drama.

She was timed out and informed she could not attempt her 77kg snatch lift after taking too long to walk out onto the lifting floor.

She also failed to lift 77kg on her third attempt and was eliminated from the event without even attempting a clean and jerk lift, having failed to record one successful lift in the snatch section of the competition.

Ninety athletes represented Nigeria at the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia.

The first batches of the Nigerian athletes that competed at the games arrived in Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday.
