Super Falcons duo of Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie were both on target for their respective teams at the weekend securing crucial wins both in the Spanish El Classico and Coupe de France.

Oshoala scored Barcelona Femini’s 3rd and 4th goals in both halves as the Champions defeated their arch rivals Real Madrid 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Her first goal came in the 37th minute off Caroline Graham Hansen’s cross which she slotted into an empty net. She added a second in the 70th minute to seal a convincing victory for the league leaders.

The Super Falcons captain continues in her fine form making it 13 league goals this season with her side yet to drop a point in the Spanish Liga Iberdrola.

In similar fashion, Oparanozie’s 63rd minute leveller for Dijon against compatriot, Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal for Paris ensured that Dijon  reached the last four of the Coup de France at the weekend.

Dijon had fallen behind to an early goal with Nnadozie’s fine performances on several occasions ensuring the lead was maintained but not until Oparanozie came knocking. The Super Falcons striker received the ball from her teammate, went past three Paris defenders before slotting home beyond Nnadozie to level things up.

It ended 1-1 in regulation time but Dijon progressed 4-2 on penalties as Nnadozie was unable to pull off her usual penalty heroics.

With the win Oparanozie’s Dijon joins PSG, Guingamp and Lyon in the semi-final of the Coupe de France.
