Head coach Eric Chelle and his squad have departed their training camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, where they have been based for the past three weeks, and are on their way to Lagos ahead of tonight’s trip to Zanzibar.

The Nigeria Football Federation has organised a second phase of their training camp in Zanzibar, which will run from 25 to 31 July, before the 2018 CHAN silver medallists move into their official accommodation on the island. The team’s bus left the Ikenne facility at approximately 5:05 pm enroute to Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, from where they will fly to Zanzibar aboard Ethiopian Airlines.

Meanwhile, the NFF has finalised plans for the Super Eagles B to play two friendly matches against the Zanzibar senior national team, scheduled for Monday, 28 July, and Thursday, 31 July.

Earlier in the day, the squad held their final training session at the camp, with all the selected players participating, as previously reported by ACLSports.

Nigeria, who were losing finalists in 2018, will play their first two matches of the tournament, against Senegal and Sudan, at the Amman Stadium on the island of Zanzibar, before taking on Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.‎
