Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa was spotted in training as Nigeria’s home-based Eagles continued their training for the CHAN2020 qualifier against Togo on Thursday.
The Super Eagles B take on their counterparts from Togo, the Hawks, in a must-win match in the CHAN2020 second-round qualifier at the Soccer Temple on Saturday.
Nigeria’s CHAN team is in danger of missing out of the CHAN2020 tournament after a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Togo in the first leg in Lome late last month.
In the training session monitored by YourSportsMemo, Ezenwa was seen training with his teammates as they prepare for the game former Enyimba goalkeeper described as “not easy”.
“It’s not going to be an easy game, ” Ezenwa said. “It is going to be a pressure game. We need to score at every point in time.”
Super Eagles B will be meeting the Hawks of Togo for the third time in over three weeks, with the previous two matches ending in defeats.
The Eagles lost 4-1 in Lome before going down to the Hawks 2-1 during the just concluded WAFU Cup in Senegal.
Reacting to that, Ezenwa says the home-based Eagles are ready to correct their Lome mistakes in Agege on Saturday.
“It’s not something good (losing to them twice), ” Ezenwa added. “But we have gone back to the drawing board to correct our mistakes. So, come Saturday, you will see a perfect home-based Eagles.”
Other NPFL stars spotted by aclsports.com in training include Kano Pillars forward, Nwagua Nyima, Reuben Bala of Enyimba, 2019 joint-top scorers, Sunusi Ibrahim, Nasarawa United, and Akwa United’s Mfon Udoh.
Sikiru Alimi of Lobi Stars and Remo Stars’ rising star, Olisah Ndah were amongst those also spotted during the intense session.
Saturday’s match against Togo, who have already arrived in the country, is billed to kick off at 4 pm.
