Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala scored the first goal as Barcelona Femeni thrashed FC Minsk in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) at the Johan Cruyff Stadium on Thursday night.

The Spanish giants won the first leg of their round of 16 UWCL play-off against the team from Belarus 5-0 with Nigeria’s Oshoala leading the assault with a goal and an assist to open her 2019/2020 UWCL account.

Oshoala was named among the starting XI against FC Minsk as she opened the scoring in as early as the 6th minute with a well taken goal from an inch perfect cut-back.

20 minutes later, Oshoala became the provider with another perfect cut-back in the game as Aitana Bonmati finished with aplomb beyond the FC Minsk goalkeeper to score her second on the night and Spanish side’s third.

The Super Falcons captain was later taken off on the hour mark with the scoreline at 4-0 as Barcelona Femeni recorded a famous first leg victory right in front of their home fans.

It was however a different story entirely for Charity Reuben and BIIK Kazygurt who lost the first leg of their round of 16 UWCL play-off to Bayern Munich.

Charity was an 82nd minute substitute in the game as her side lost 5-0 at home and will have it all to do against last season’s semifinalists when they travel to Germany in the return leg of the fixture.
