World record holder Tobi Amusan delivered a commanding performance at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.45s, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Nigerian sprinter left no doubt about her form as she powered ahead from the first hurdle and never looked back. Her dominant victory in Ostrava confirmed her return to top shape, following her season’s best 12.24s just days earlier in Paris Diamond League.
She finished well ahead of Viktória Forster of Slovakia, who clocked 12.74s, and Sarah Lavin of Ireland, who followed in 12.76s, both recording season’s bests, but unable to match Amusan’s pace.
Amusan had run a season’s best of 12.24s, finishing second behind the USA’s Grace Stark, who won with a meet record of 12.21s. That Paris performance was Amusan’s fastest since her world-record-breaking 12.12s in Eugene, highlighting her rapid return to elite form.
With her confidence clearly restored, Amusan’s performance in Ostrava sends a strong message ahead of the World Championships: she’s back, focused, and ready to contend for global gold once again.
