Last year’s AITEO Cup finalists and league champions Nasarawa Amazons crashed out of the 2018 AITEO Cup on Wednesday following a 2-1 loss Bayelsa Queens.

The league defending champions needed at least a draw to give themselves any hope of qualification after a 2-2 draw in the first group game against Sunshine Queens. They however were unable to pull it off and after three games in Group C, Bayelsa Queens amassed four points and will compete in the quarterfinals of the 2018 AITEO Cup alongside Sunshine Queens who have two points.

In Group B, Confluence Queens and Ibom Angels will progress to the next round having secured three points each after the latter defeated Delta Babes 4-0 on Wednesday evening; thanks to a double brace from Precious Christopher and Abdulrasheed Aluko. The final game which will be between the top two teams will determine who qualifies top of the group.

Meanwhile at the Lafia Township Stadium Osun Babes made light work of Bayelsa Queens Feeders defeating them 3-1 to bounce back from the defeat to Rivers Angels. As things stand, Osun Babes and Rivers Angels both have three points but a final game between Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens Feeders will determine the final two who will represent the group in the next round.

FC Robo, Delta Queens and Edo Queens have it all to fight for in Group D with two games left to be played in the group.
