Lekki Cruisers Volleyball Club has qualified for the finals of the 2023 LVC Thunders Games in the men and women’s categories on Saturday.

Lekki Cruisers defeated Logistics VC 3-1 (25-23, 25-27, 25-22, 28-26) in the men’s semifinals while Lekki Cruisers defeated Logistics VC 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24) in the women’s semifinals at the outdoor volleyball court of Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.

The Chairman of Lekki Volleyball Club, Bome Ojoboh hailed the coaching crew and players for giving their various opponents good fights in the semifinals.

Ojoboh said the club is eyeing a double this year after losing to Amuwo Spikers in the men’s final last year and failing to make it to the women’s final in 2022.

He told www.aclsports.com that motivational machineries have been put in place to support both teams playing in the final.

He said, “I am happy with the performances of both teams in the semifinals. They played against a compact team (Logistics VC) but we overcame them with technicalities. The players were on top of their games despite been frustrated by their opponents.

“Last year, our boys were beaten by Amuwo Spikers in the final but things will be different this time around. I want to assure our fans that both teams are going to make the club proud. We are storming the venue of the final in our numbers to cheer the teams to victory”.

In the other semi-final matches, Legacy VC beat Satelite VC 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-21) in the men’s category while Legacy VC beat Festac VC 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-15) in the women’s category.

Lekki Cruisers Volleyball Club will face Legacy Volleyball Club in the women’s final by 10am while the men’s team will face Legacy VC by 11am the outdoor volleyball court of Teslim Balogun stadium.
