Some athletes of Ondo State origin that won medals in the just concluded Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia will be celebrated at a later date as Mr Governor has given approval for their reception” Ogunleye said.

The Commissioner said, “It must be placed on record that the athletes from Ondo State got two out of the nine gold medals won by Nigeria during the Commonwealth Games. This could not have been achieved without the constant support from Mr Governor”.

Odunayo Adekuoroye and Aminat Adeniyi won gold medals while Bose Samuel won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
