Cameroon international Vincent Abubakar has been put up for sale by his Portuguese club FC Porto with a year left on his contract as Premier League side West Ham United look to enrol the 28-year-old to fill a gap in their attack.

Initially an influential player with the Dragons, the 2017 African champion lost his place due to recurrent injuries, limiting his appearances to just 65 minutes shared across four matches in the outstanding season.

Porto have added his name to a list of players to be offloaded ahead of the new campaign.

According to Marca, West Ham have made inquiries and are willing to pay the striker’s €7 million release clause.

The publication also mentioned Besiktas as another possible destination following brief talks with representatives of Aboubakar, who spent a season-long loan at the Turkish club in 2016/17.

The Yaoundé-born boasts of 20 goals in 63 appearances with the Indomitable Lions.
