Nigeria international, Deborah Abiodun, has been recalled by Washington Spirit from her loan at Dallas Trinity FC in the Gainbridge Super League, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who recently helped Nigeria’s Super Falcons win the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco, returns to Washington four months early after joining Dallas in February on a year-long deal.

Dallas Trinity marked her departure with a message on social media: “All roads lead through here. Once a Trinity, you will be missed. Thank you Deb.”

Welcoming her back, Spirit Interim General Manager Nathan Minion said: “We’re thrilled to bring Deb back to the Spirit as we approach the home stretch of the 2025 season. After following her impressive performances with Dallas and Nigeria this year, we know Deb will fit very well with this team and help us accomplish our goals.”

Abiodun signed with the Spirit in January on a three-year contract with an option through 2028, beginning her professional career after two standout seasons at the University of Pittsburgh.

Next up for the Spirit is a home clash with Chicago Stars FC on Sunday, August 31, at Audi Field in the club’s annual Pride Match, a stage that could mark Abiodun’s first game back in Spirit colors.
