The NPFL board has announced plans to honour Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, and Nasarawa United forward, Anas Yusuf, for their outstanding achievements in the 2024/25 league season, www.aclsports.com reports.

Ogunmodede led Remo Stars to their first-ever league title, while Anas won the league’s top scorer award following his 18-goal haul in the previous campaign. The award ceremony has been scheduled to be held on Tuesday, September 2, in Abuja.

Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, the NPFL Chairman, disclosed the new date and said it is pursuant to the board’s policy to promote excellence through the reward.

“It has been our policy to encourage players, coaches, and the entire team to elevate the quality of our league football through outstanding performances.

“We have consistently rewarded our best club richly and the highest goal scorers and best performing coach in conjunction with our investment partner, GTI Assets Management”, explained Elegbeleye.

The NPFL Chairman also added that each of the award winners will be paid N1.5 million and presented with a commemorative plaque.

The award and reception was held up due to the engagement of the duo in the preparations and participation of the CHAN Eagles team.
