Lekki Cruisers Volleyball Club are champions of the men and women’s categories at the just concluded 2023 LVC Thunder Games on Saturday.

Lekki VC defeated Legacy VC 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-19) in the men’s final while Lekki VC beat Legacy 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-12, 25-19) in the women’s final played at the outdoor volleyball court of Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.

The head coach of Lekki volleyball teams, Suleiman Ajeigbe told www.aclsports.com that winning the LVC Thunder Games (men and women) is a big deal for him.

Ajeigbe popularly known as SOBA attributed the success to God and the players for playing according to game plans.

He said, “I feel excited and I want to return all the glory to God Almighty because this is his doing. From the beginning of the year, it has been glorious for me”.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Lekki Volleyball Clubs, Bome Ojoboh said, “This is a very good development for Lekki Volleyball Club; we are currently three years old. We started the club in 2021 and this is our second tournament. The truth is that we want the narrative of volleyball and doing the best of West Africa very soon.

“We did not expect to get this far considering the fact other teams had been playing together for years but we are able to put a shocker in both categories.

“I am more than impressed with both teams because we have changed the narrative and most of the club players are workers who come to enjoy themselves at the end of the day”.

Mayowa Bello (Lekki VC) and Rofiat Mustapha (Lekki VC) were adjudged the Most Valuable Players (MVP) of the tournament in the men and women’s categories.

Women’s Individual Awards:
