In-form Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa shine as Super Eagles prepare for Guinea Bissau…
Napoli of Italy striker Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa stood out in Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ evening training session on Wednesday ahead of Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier (AFCONQ) against Guinea-Bissau in Abuja.
Goals came from the boots of both players and others in the team’s first full training session held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, venue of Friday’s encounter.
Twenty-three players took part in Wednesday’s training with Zaidu Sanusi, who just arrived earlier in the day, also taking part.
In the session, Musa scored a spectacular against Francis Uzoho to open the scoring spree before Osimhen grabbed a goal of his own by taking the ball over the onrushing Uzoho.
The Napoli striker, who has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, linked up brilliantly with Lookman and others, much to the delight of the sizable number of fans at the session.
Other goal scorers in the quality session include Nice forward Terem Moffi, Kenneth Omeruo, Chukwueze and Atalanta’s Lookman.
The one hour plus session also included drills on set-pieces (corner kicks and free kicks) with Samuel Chukwueze, Bruno Onyemaechi and Ademola Lookman making quality deliveries from both ends of the pitch.
Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau in their third group game on Friday with kick-off time set for 5pm local time. Both teams will then face in Bissau for the second installment of the double-header fixtures.
The Super Eagles are top of Group A with six maximum points from their first two games.
