For the first time in a single FIBA Women’s World Cup, the senior women’s national team, D’Tigress won back to back victories. D’Tigress showed their win against Turkey 48 hours ago was not a fluke and had to replicate the win when they faced Argentina on Tuesday night.

Promise Amukamara had 16 points, Aisha Mohammed scored 12 points and 9 rebounds, Ezinne Kalu had 12 points and 4 assists while Evelyn Akhator with her second double-double of the tournament contributed 10 points and 13 boards.

Argentina needed to beat Nigeria by 17 points to advance to the quarter final qualification game but failed to keep up with Nigeria’s momentum in the last quarter and eventually lost by 5 points (75-70).

Here are some of the best reactions expressed by Nigerians on twitter.

Yo, Back to BACK WINS for D'Tigress, Great game, so tough but the girls pulled through. Phew! That was emotionally exasperating. I need a chilled drink.

Finally, FIBA also stated Nigeria’s possible quarter-final opponent should they make it past Greece.
