Nigeria Premier Football League side Kwara United will take on Abakaliki FC, who just got relegated to the third division from the Nigeria National League, in the cup final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Saturday.

Speaking in Yoruba on a sports show on Sure 97.5FM Lagos, Sanni emphasized his team’s confidence and readiness.

“We are different from Ikorodu City. Ask them what we did to them when we played in Lagos and Ilorin in the NPFL this season – they will tell you,” the coach responded to questions about Abakaliki’s giant-killing strides.

On their way to the final, Abakaliki FC knocked out three NPFL teams, including Ikorodu City in the semifinal.

“We are not underrating Abakaliki FC, but we are also not afraid. We mean business,” Sanni added.

In-form Kwara United striker, Wasiu Alalade, also spoke about the team’s readiness for the Challenge on Saturday.

“This final gives us a good edge. It is an opportunity for us to make history, make a name for ourselves and for our fans to be proud of us.”

“I feel excited because Kwara United is a team that plays with motivation and character. We are ready for the challenge. We did it against Rangers in the semifinals, and we will challenge ourselves again against Abakaliki on Saturday,” the former Enyimba striker concluded.

Kwara United arrived in Lagos last week to acclimatise with the environment, while Abakaliki arrived the host city on Monday.

The 2025 President Federation Cup final between Kwara United and Abakaliki at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos will kick-off by 4pm. The winner will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
