Swedish side Djurgården have announced the signing of winger Angelo Agbejoye from Nigerian academy Grassrunners, www.aclsports.com reports.
Agbejoye, 18, has signed a five-year deal with the club, and has taken part in his first training session on Tuesday.
”We are pleased to welcome Angelo Agbejoye to Djurgården on a contract that extends over the next five years,” the club said in a statement.
”We have been well acquainted with Angelo for a while now and the interest from our side has become more intense recently. We have partly followed him closely via video, and partly I have been in Nigeria myself for two weeks to see Angelo live in training and matches, as well as get to know him and his family,” says Djurgården’s scout Jonatan Axelsson.
”Angelo is a skilled left-footed player who is most comfortable as a right wing forward. He possesses a point in his speed combined with a nice technical package and is a skilled finisher. He is a young player and of course also has parts of his game that he needs to develop and he will get that time here. We see great potential in him and we are very happy that he has now signed for Djurgården,” Axelsson concluded while describing the winger.
”I am very happy and grateful to be here, says Angelo, and he went on to state his main strengths as follows; ”My main strengths are speed, attack, finesse, scoring goals and making crucial passes, creating chances and, in short; winning.”
Angelo, who is more comfortable playing on the right in the attack, will hope to make his mark in Swedish football just like Zadok Yohanna in the coming years.
