Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala bagged a brace in the Spanish women’s league as Barcelona defeated Sevilla 6-2 on Wednesday evening to keep their title hopes alive.
Oshoala made a full return to the Barcelona line-up after a month of injury lay-off and it was only a matter of time before she made her presence felt. The Falcons forward scored the second and third goals for her side in the 30th and 34th minute of the Liga Iberdrola encounter before being susbstituted in the 67th minute.
The win helps Oshola’s Barcelona keep the pressure on league leaders Atletico Madrid women who face Valencia at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Oshoala and Barcelona women will now look forward to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final second leg game against Bayern women at home on Sunday afternoon. Barcelona are in a good position (0-1) with an away goal advantage as they look to make history.
Still on the Super Falcons, Ngozi Ebere bagged a hat-trick for her side, Umea as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Borgeby in the women’s Swedish league.
The Falcons left-back has been on an impressive run of form since rejoining Robert Bergstrom’s side from rivals Mallbacken in January.
She has now scored four goals in two games for her side with the recent win sending Umea to the top of the log as she prepares to face her former side, Mallbacken on Saturday.
